Essex Library is collecting feedback as part of our strategic planning process. It’s important to us that everyone in town has a chance to engage with our planning process. Whether you use the library or haven’t visited in awhile, please join us for a focused conversation led by local resident and strategic planning consultant Patty Dowling.
This conversation will be held via Zoom. Register in advance for this meeting:

The Essex Library has re-launched our Strategic Planning process, which was put on hold in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The process is facilitated by Essex resident Patty Dowling. Formerly director of the Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries, Dowling has offered strategic consulting services to area non-profits since 2018.
The library aims to complete the strategic plan by the fall. The plan will include actionable and measurable goals for the library to achieve over the next three to five years. The library’s last strategic plan was in 2013.
The purpose of strategic planning is to create an opportunity for residents and other interested parties to discuss community needs and find out how the library can align services with those needs.
